If your child struggles academically—including with reading, writing, math, organization, time management, or executive functioning skills, or a combination of these—they can benefit immensely from one-on-one tutoring. At EBL Coaching, we specialize in providing research-based, multi-sensory tutoring catered to your child’s individual needs. This type of specialized tutoring can truly be life changing!
Yes! Before the tutoring begins, your child will receive an assessment to gauge their academic skills and levels, and to determine the specific research-based techniques that would be best for them. We then match each student with a tutor who specializes in the areas they need help with and whose personality connects well with them.
The tutoring can take place at our learning center, at your home, at your child’s school, virtually, or at another mutually agreed upon location, like a public library.
We provide tutoring to students as young as age three and up to adult levels. Each tutor specializes in different age, grade, and skill levels.
Yes, absolutely! When looking for a tutor for your child, especially if they have specialized learning needs like a learning disability or ADHD, it is ideal for them to receive instruction using research-based, multi-sensory techniques, such as the Orton Gillingham method for reading and spelling.
Many students struggle with their homework and school assignments in addition to needing remediation of their core academic skills. We can absolutely integrate homework and school assignments into your child’s tutoring sessions.
We can be flexible with tutoring schedules. We provide tutoring during day time, after school, and weekend hours, and tutors would be happy to accommodate schedule changes as needed.
The Orton Gillingham technique is a research-based, multi-sensory technique that helps students develop their reading and spelling skills. It is systematic and engaging, integrating tools such as sand, magnetic tiles, and audio-visual flash cards as part of a structured approach to teaching.
Orton Gillingham tutoring is a type of specialized tutoring that is particularly beneficial for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities, but most students can benefit from this approach. Orton Gillingham tutoring sessions are highly individualized to the levels and needs of each student and progress forward through systematic lessons.
Yes! We do a great deal of work helping students develop their writing skills. We use research-based, multi-sensory techniques to help students improve their ability to write sentences, paragraphs, and essays. We teach them how to brainstorm, write, and self-check their writing in an organized manner.
Yes, we absolutely help students with learning disabilities develop their math skills. In fact, we help ALL students, including those with ADHD and those without any specific learning challenges, build their math skills. We use hands-on, multi-sensory techniques for math tutoring and skills development.
Most students with learning disabilities respond best to research-based, multi-sensory tutoring catered to their specific needs. Students who receive learning disability tutoring should begin with an evaluation and then receive structured tutoring lessons based on their levels, progressing at their individualized pace.
ADHD tutoring typically involves teaching specific tools and strategies to students based on their unique needs. Many students with ADHD struggle with their executive functioning skills, so ADHD tutoring might involve teaching them executive functioning strategies, including tools for building their time management, organization, planning, focusing, and task initiation skills.
Yes, tutoring can absolutely help your child build their executive functioning skills. As students move through school, the executive functioning demands increase quickly. Learning strategies for building these skills can help them excel academically and improve their organization, time management, and study skills.
Yes! At EBL Coaching, tutors use many virtual tools for remote tutoring so they can engage with students as though they are working together in person. Many students enjoy the flexibility and convenience of virtual tutoring, and it is highly effective for many students.

Multi-sensory tutoring engages the visual, auditory, and tactile/kinesthetic modalities when working with students. These tutoring lessons might include tools such as multi-colored highlighters, magnetic tiles, shaving cream, colored sand, and manipulatives, all integrated into a structured tutoring plan.

Yes! If your child is struggling academically or with their executive functioning skills, they can absolutely benefit from tutoring, even without a diagnosis. It is better to be proactive in helping your child than reactive down the road, once the demands of school have already significantly increased.
We do extensive one-on-one tutoring that helps students build their organization and time management skills. These skills are critical for success in school and become even more important as students move through middle and high school and need to juggle an increasing workload. We also help many younger students develop these key skills.
